Four pupils from both wards spent time at Mersea Island yesterday, having a go at some archery. The weather held out and it was a lovely afternoon. Below are some photographs taken on the day.
Longview and Larkwood wards joined together on The Street this morning to enjoy some homemade cakes (and tea!) to celebrate Mental Health Awareness Week. Young people baked brownies (vegan and non-vegan) and a sponge cake to share with staff. Donations to the Mental Health Foundation were encouraged. We will update with grand totals in due course!
Below are some images captured at the event.
Just one of the fantastic items of produce grown in the school garden over the past six months!
A small selection of the images taken at the Dedham Therapy Farm this afternoon. Pupils fed the chickens, goats, pigs and cows and even held the rabbits and guinea pigs!
A few students visited a local nature reserve this afternoon to enjoy the scenery and pick some blackberries. Here are some photographs of the trip.
Staff and students at the St Aubyn Centre were able to watch the RAF 100 Flypast on site today between 12.45pm-1.15pm. Here’s one of the many images we captured!
Today, a group of Longview students visited Highwoods Country Park and spent time enjoying the outdoors. They played on the rope swing, had a go in a hammock and made fireless smores (which tasted delicious!).
This afternoon, a selection of Longview staff and patients made NHS themed cupcakes in preparation for the ward garden party. Here are some examples of their hard work. They managed exceptionally well in the heat!
Five pupils from both wards visited Mersea Island today and successfully built a kit kart. They displayed great patience and teamwork skills. Trying out the kart was also a lot of fun!
A selection of Longview students made no-bake cheesecakes this afternoon. As you can see, they had a lot of fun decorating them (and they tasted delicious, too!).
